Catherine Aboumrad est née en 1984 à Montréal. Elle est titulaire d’un baccalauréat en beaux-arts avec distinction de l’Université Concordia. En plus de travailler sur ses projets photographiques, elle enseigne au Cégep du Vieux Montréal.
Elle a participé à plusieurs expositions et événements au Canada et à l’étranger, dont Guatephoto, le festival de photographie contemporaine du Guatemala et Parcours Photo Sherbrooke, en collaboration avec le Musée des beaux-arts de Sherbrooke. Son travail fait partie de collections privées, notamment la Fondation HBC, l’Art-in-Buildings, à New York, et la Collection Auer, en Suisse.
La photographie de Catherine Aboumrad est un énoncé d’opulence, d’absence, d’organisation et de contrainte. Dans une approche respectueuse, le paysage s’offre sans intervention et témoigne essentiellement de cette manifestation de l’espace.

Catherine Aboumrad was born in Montreal in 1984. She graduated from Concordia University with honours after completing a bachelor's degree in fine arts. She teaches at Cégep du Vieux Montréal while simultaneously working on her photographic projects.
She has participated in several exhibitions and events throughout Canada and abroad, including at Guatephoto, the contemporary photography festival of Guatemala and Parcours Photo Sherbrooke, in collaboration with the Musée des beaux-arts de Sherbrooke. Her work is part of private collections including the HBC Foundation, Art-in-Buildings Collection of New York and the Collection Auer in Switzerland.
The work of Catherine Aboumrad is a statement of opulence, absence, organization and restriction. In a respectful approach, the landscape lends itself freely, and relates essentially to this manifestation of space.
